Junior Physical Education
Physical Education is a compulsory subject for all Year 9 and 10 students. In this subject we will focus on improving skills in different team sport, as well as team work and cooperation. We incorporate the key competencies in our subject and focus on participating and cooperation, relating to others and managing self. This is an ongoing process throughout the year. We aim to build the student as an individual, where he/she can build on their God-given talents.
Senior Physical Education
We have two legs to the Senior Physical Education programme here at Cullinane College. They are Sport Science and Exercise Science. Both these programmes run on Level 1, 2 and 3.
In this subject we put the theory into practice. We learn about the correct techniques for different sport and in so doing improve the student’s individual skills. We follow the concept of Hauora and find out how sport influences our personal well-being.
Fitness is the core of this subject area and the students develop their own fitness and exercise programme, which they can use for their specific sport.
We also focus on leadership, team and individual sport and outdoor activities. This course will have 15-20 credits worth of work for the students if they can complete all the Standards.
