Recently the Cullinane Pasifika team went along to an expo held at the Wanganui Racecourse organised by a few leading characters of the Pasifika community within Wanganui. There, many people were found in support of our Pacific students not only to encourage us to do our best for the future, but to teach us about our past. Popular to the students was the Police booth where they showcased many of the equipments used by everyday police officers and specialised gears for certain occasions. In contrast to this, the parents seemed to find themselves drawn to the NZQA booth where they discovered how the system worked and most importantly how well their children are doing.

The day was well organised in the fact that it captured the very essence of what it means to be from the Pacific. The special guest speakers all had something to offer the students, getting their message across with humour and understanding.

Overall, it was a successful day full of opportunity to learn more both on the parents side and students. The support of the Pasifika community is greatly appreciated by everyone. A great time was had by all.
